If magic is but a reality
Inside children's dreams;
If wishes are fantasies
That never come true;
How else would I find
Myself closer to you?

If this life is unlike any
Of the many fairy tales;
If there are no villains
To challenge heroines;
What songs are left
For the bards to sing?

If frogs stay in the ponds,
Never turn into princes;
If Cinderella didn't leave,
Her glass slippers behind;
How could there ever be
A happily ever after?
