Our staff members were busy this morning. I saw them coming in and out of the building preparing for the big adoption event today. I heard a lot of people are coming and I am excited. Is today the day?
I made sure I am well-behaved. On the other hand, my siblings were unable to stop from grabbing toys from one another. I must admit, though, there were times that I got tempted. One time, I grabbed a toy from Jan’s mouth and as usual, she gave a tiny yelp. As expected, drama queen!
I have counted about twenty people. That is a lot! Also, did I mention that there are almost two-dozen puppies inside this building? I am starting to feel all the excitement in the air! I looked around me and I see puppies being lifted up from their playpens while some are already held by prospective parents.
The big doors open again and I caught a faint sweet scent. What is that smell? I love that smell! I extended my neck as much as I could and tipped my toes to see where that smell is coming from. As I was about to climb on one of my brothers’ back to get up on higher ground, I felt a set of hands gently lifting me up in the air and the sweet smell that I was searching for was right there next to me. No, it is right here holding me!
Ever so softly, she touches my forehead and rubbed my ears with her fingers. Then she puts her face closer to mine and whispered, “You are a quiet one, aren’t you?” I turned my head around to hold her gaze with my best puppy-dog eyes to say, “Please take me home.”
my first attempt to write an object narrative or novel of circulation and i thought it would be fitting to write from my dog’s perspective from his adoption day event.
Jen, I loved this 👏🏻 you did a great job! I saw it and smelled it all 😂. This is definitely like what I’ve read in another novel about a dog’s life. You should definitely keep going. You might have a very cute story inspired. Way to go, keep writing, keep shining ✍️🤓😇
You nailed it. Loved it. Could definitely be expanded.
