Have you read The Art of Racing in the Rain? I read it years ago and if I remember correctly it was written from a dog's perspective. I remember crying while reading it, but it was beautiful. Your piece reminded me of this book.
Adorable!! I love "I'll stick a bit of my white paw out" so she can find me. I also love the story of the Naming Day. When we adopted our Kate (who is now over the Rainbow Bridge after 16 years with us), she was part of a litter of 3 that were named after the theme of coffee. There was Coffee, Cream, and Sugar. We adopted Sugar and immediately named her Kate. She was an Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix. She was a sweet soul, and Sugar was apt, but we also wanted to use a name not associated with the pound. I am so happy that Datu loves you and has a good and loving home with you.
Love these stories and sooo cute pictures 🐶 💗. I can’t wait to see what adventures you and Datu take us on. I’ve been sharing these with my young son and he is also loving the story line of your rescue dog. We also lost our beloved dog after 16 years (what connection there truly is huh 😇) and we were blessed with another rescue dog 🐕 now who we love so much. Please keep sharing about Datu and your joyous journey with us. We’ll keep reading 🤓🥰☕️
i loved this story. going back to read part one again! Datu in my launguage is a honorable name for a elder brother.... how interesting it carries same respect..
I love it ❤️
Thank you Francesca.

I will look for that book!
I think there was a movie, too...
I watched a dog movie called "A dog's Purpose" - have you seen that?
Just love those shots of an odd paw or too draped just so. We have a rescue cat, lionhearted yet still anxious
Too cute not to take photos of
Love it. I can visualise a small collection of "The Adventures of Datu". Like the little Beatrix Potter books.
what a neat idea!
Aww Datu such a unique name.. love this Jen 🥰
😂 thank you

That is a sweet (pun intended) story about Sugar/Kate. We did have another dog before Datu and he also crossed over and also 16 yrs old.

OMG thank you for saying these! It made my day!!!
I should write about the magic of how we ended up with Datu in the first place! That is my next assignment and please read to your son when I publish!
Yes please 👏🏻😁🐕
