That was fascinating! I know nothing of the art of perfume making and now am curious to learn more! What a special gift for your sweet mother. 🤗😊
My dear Jen. This is starting to be eerily magical.
The other day I was listening to Trinny Woodall’s podcast Feaarless where she interviews people about their fears. The episode was with Jo Malone whom I’d never heard of. Totally fascinating! And I was wondering why I was fascinated by it. Now I know.
Reading your article here! The whole scent of a being. The creation of a scent for someone, with someone. Listen to it and you’ll understand!!!
Jo Malone is one of my favorite "noses" (perfumers) and she now crafts for her new line Jo Loves after selling her namesake brand to Estee Lauder (i think). If you get a chance to visit her London shop for Jo Loves you should check it out. Thanks for the link and yes, I have already listened to it. I am her fan!
I love frangipani. In my culture we call it temple tree flower.it;s fragrance is tropical and reminds me of summer.Lilac flower and lily flower...I never noticed the fragrance.I love jasmine fragrance too.How wonderful to create perfumes! and what an endearing tribute to your mother.
Hi @Reena! Thanks for participating. Indeed. And if you noticed, the words you used to describe the scent was actually borrowed from another object too. And saying things as "sweet" is technically a borrow from the sense of taste. Isn't it amazing?
‘Maceration’ is a word I never heard of, such a fascinating process! Almost reminds me of the time when I first read about the process of making soy sauce from my friend Nicola who lives in Vanuatu. Humans are such ingenious species to extract and blend such intricate taste and fragrances out of relatively simpler things. It’s a beautiful gesture to have dedicated this to your mother, I hope she delights in your creation! 💜🌼
Hello Swarnali - I have also just learned the word when I started my research on the topic. I am actually researching on perfume ingredients now and planning to write each one slowly. Thank you for reading.

Thanks Tracy! I do not know a lot yet either 🥰 but I will write about what I learn.

8 weeks wow. your Isa perfume sounds so refreshing!
Yes. It is such a process and I am sure the expert noses (perfumers) would have so many things to correct me on these 😂 I am a newbie after all.
